Frequently asked questions
What is the Champion's Series?
The Champion's Series at ERA is a 12-week skill-based program featuring round-robin to bracket-style play. Players will be able to register based on their DUPR rating. You will accumulate points based on performance during the event to determine eligibility for the Tournament of Champions held at the end of the series.
What's the Tournament of Champion's (ToC)?
The Tournament of Champions is the big finale of our Champions series. This tournament is always our highest-paid tournament for all levels. The only way to gain eligibility for this tournament is to play in our Champions Series or play in our tournaments. The top 16 players from each skill will be eligible to enter the ToC. Player ranking will be determined based on the points accumulated throughout the series and displayed publicly on ERA's website.
How are points determined?
Points are based on round-robin performance and bracket performance:
- Round Robin - 1st place will receive 110 points, and every place after will receive 10 fewer points.
- Bracket winner will receive 125 points regardless of your round-robin performance.
You will also be able to receive points through any tournaments held at ERA. Tournament points will be awarded as such:
- 1st place team = 300 points
- 2nd place team = 200 points
- 3rd place team = 125 points
- 4th place team = 75 points
- 5th place team = 50 points
This will apply if there's 10+ teams in a bracket, less than 10 teams and only 1st - 3rd will be awarded points.
What level can I sign up for?
We recommend that you sign up for the same level you would normally sign up for in a tournament. This helps us keep a high quality of play and competition for everyone.
Will there be relegation?
Yes, we will enforce player relegation. We relegate players to ensure the highest level of competition in our Champions Series. You will be asked to play in a lower bracket if one of two things occur:
- Go winless in the round-robin phase 2 weeks in a row
- Get a point differential of -35 or lower in round-robin play any week
